The Many Facets of Nancy Grace

Nancy Grace was born on October 23, 1959 in Macon, Georgia. After attending Valdosta State University and Mercer University, her goal was to become an English professor. However, her plans changed when her fiancé was murdered. This prompted Grace to attend law school. Upon graduation, she continued her education at New York University, where she received her Masters in constitutional and criminal law.

Prior to her career as a legal commentator and television personality, Grace worked as special prosecutor in the Atlanta area. In that position, Grace became a controversial figure after displaying multiple incidents of courtroom misconduct.

After 10 years as special prosecutor, she turned to broadcasting. She accepted a position as a legal commentator on a show that also featured O.J. Simpson defense attorney Johnnie Cochran. Cochran soon left the show, leaving Grace to cover trials on Court TV (now truTV.)

The Court TV job led her to a position as host of a legal-analysis series on “CNN Headline News.” After trying to perform both her Court TV and CNN duties, Grace decided to concentrate on her CNN job as well as her charity work. She is currently the host of a current-affairs show on HLN that is simply titled “Nancy Grace”—one of HLN’s highest-rated shows.

Grace has been given two awards from the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television, she’s co-authored a highly praised book on the American justice system and she’s written a fiction mystery thriller.

Grace married David Lynch in 2007, and in November of that same year, Grace gave birth to twins. Love her or hate her, Nancy Grace has proven to be an important and respected voice when it comes to legal analysis and commentary.
